Also, asking this question shows your manager that you’re not actively strategizing an exit plan. It shows you’re intending to be in the same seat next year, are ready to invest your time, and are willing to align your goals with those of the company. Ghosn stresses that this question should be just one of many questions in the conversationâ€"feedback about your general performance, the direction of the company, and any negotiations should have already taken place.
